It may not be as good as a Cali sunset, but a jersey shore sunrise is just beautiful. Sure being at the beach at 4 am isn’t something most people would do, but does that not make it ten times more special? 

The meshing of oranges and pinks and yellows sends a warmth to your heart that can neither be paralleled by any word nor any picture could ever do it justice. Something so pretty, so dazzling that you can’t help but stare in amazement. It’s like the first snow of winter, the first rain of spring, the first swim of summer or the first leaf change of autumn. Words become limp and meaningless in comparison, a picture turns into a fuzzy recollection, even the image in your mind begins to fade.

There is nothing like a sunrise sitting on a beach at four in the morning.

I thought about it today…and I can actually think of several solid things that give me hope.

1. A child’s innocence

2. a fresh box of crayons/paint/colored pencils

3. a rain puddle

4. post its

5. watching my artwork dry into a semi decent piece of art

6. quotes

7. musicians 

8. a long, hot shower

9. the air after it’s rained

10. the first signs of spring

Hope is powerful. It’s all i’ll need to get through my days. And when partnered with faith it is the unbeatable force that keeps my heart beating everyday.
